Press Release

5FM's Fikile 'Fix' on a mission again to help create South Africa's Top Social Entrepreneurs.

Fix (as she is affectionately known to her listners) is known for her bubbly personality on air and is a firm favourite with listeners...

The Beginning...

Fikile Moeti, aka ‘FIX’ is a well-known South African Radio DJ that saw the inextricable similarities and challenges that the arts sector and social enterprises continue to face in Africa.

She become the first female presenter on ‘MTV networks Africa’(2006-2010), the multi-talented entrepreneur has since joined the 5FM radio DJs currently hosting her very own Electronic Dance Music show between 10pm and 1pm, and co-hosting Mon to Fri between 1pm and 4pm.

Having started her career in the entertainment and media industry at the age of 19, Fix has always believed that business, the arts, and social development are not mutually exclusive. In order to play her part in making this belief a reality, after 6 years working in the entertainment industry Fix decided to go back to school – studying at both Columbia College Chicago and New York University ( majoring in Arts Entrepreneurship/ Small Businesses). Constantly striving to enhance herself as a Social Entrepreneur, upon arrival back home, Fix continued her studies by enrolling at the ‘Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), University of Pretoria.’

Fix contends that of all the courses she has done, the GIBS Social Entrepreneurship Programme (SEP) has been the most impactful – to her as an individual and to her ability to affect social change through Entrepreneurship. Consequently, Fix partnered with ‘GIBS’ in 2012 to give a life-changing opportunity to Africa’s next Social Entrepreneurs by offering bursaries to study the SEP.

…And so the Fix Scholarship was born!

We are looking for the diamond in the rough that has a 'doers' mentality and a heart to create change
